Heart And Home

I have spent the day in Achill

From the comfort of my home

YouTube videos handy

I can see the raging foam

First time visitors full of awe

At Keem and on Keel strand

And striding the heights at Minaun

Surveying a splendid land

 

I bought some salmon for the tea

And potatoes too of course

And a soothing glass of Guinness

To satisfy the thirst

And celebrated Ireland

The land from which I came

And celebrated forbears

And proudly bear their name

 

And everyone should love their home

The wellsprings of their life

And find a joy and comfort

Amid this world of strife

And celebrate just where you live

It serves you every day

And so I bless old Stirling

It’s here I chose to stay
