Intimation

In our street a man has died

I knew him to say hello

A handsome and a pleasant man

Hard worker too I know

I passed his house most every day

Going for my bus

Or coming back from shopping

A nod there was between us

He died more than two weeks ago

That local news passed by

We’re more in touch with Heligoland

Than those who live nearby

He’s gone to God I’ll miss him

For all we didn’t chat

He’s gone ahead to heaven

Where we’ll make up for that
