Mark 7:24-30
It’s the kind of thing that Sarah would have said
That line about the housedogs and the scraps
The Syrophoenician woman
Desperate for her daughter
Would take whatever scraps the master gave
My mother’s sister Sarah
The youngest of her clan
Was given the gift of speech
Better than any man
She was full of conversation
Entertainment too
Could have been a politician
And said a thing or two
She always gave great welcome
And filled the day with talk
Knowledgeable on subjects
And funny with the joke
She listened and she learned
Her opinion then gave out
God bless my aunty Sarah
We’ll meet again no doubt
