I’m now an online catholic
Flitting here and there
Seeking out nice churches
And people there at prayer
And listening for a sermon
For words now said aright
For someone with something to say
Direct line of sight
Retired I am and at my ease
Every day my own
No work demands attending me
Just reap what I have sown
A trip to Waitrose on the bus
Milk and bread to buy
Occasionally a beer brought in
Here’s mud in your eye
But every life needs purpose
A goal to aim for true
And when there are no demands on me
The demand inside comes through
The urging of the spirit
Seek and you shall find
And God is found in simple things
In ways of being kind
