Matthew 13:54-58
Going home
Familiar sights and sounds
Familiar friendly faces
This is my home ground
People know my family
Know the place I stay
Welcome back – staying long?
We heard you’d been away
They know the outward story
Face and figure fine
They know the way I walk
Seen it time on time
But they do not see the inner me
Not until I say
And when I do the words disturb
Better I go away
It takes us by surprise you see
This clever clogs today
We thought he was a workingman
Fair job for fair day’s pay
But it seems he has a wisdom
And an eloquence to boot
Not what we were expecting
Go on go on get out!
