A Watery Grave

Paul Ormsby Ciaran Smith

Two men lost at sea

Two were found and they brought home

Given burial prayer intoned

But two still lost at sea

Erris people walk the shore

And look out for a sign

Two helmets carried on the tide

Tokens of those men and pride

Washed in on the brine

The sea gives up her dead tis said

On resurrection day

Until that time we walk the strand

Hoping to lend a helping hand

And bring them to the clay

The welcome of the Erris folk

Is warm and true and kind

They know the power of wind and weather

How everyone must pull together

Till lost ones we can find
