Two faces smile at me
Side by side
Dorothy one hundred years
Evie only nine
Great grandma and great grandchild
Smash the years between
And Alwyn on the sideboard framed
Looking on serene
The years have run for Dorothy
A century all told
A lovely gentle Yorkshire girl
Safe now from the cold
And Evie starting out in life
A smile to steal your heart
Great grandma great grandchild
This is how we start
We do not come from nowhere
We have a noble line
Of people who have loved us
Time again and time
Held within their loving arms
Sent into the world
Old and young together
In family love we’re furled
