My bread maker makes a loaf of bread
And fills my kitchen with the fragrant smell of flour
My house is warm and peaceful
This Monday morning hour
I sit awhile and read a holy book
Benedict on Holy Week
And the life it took
I go on You Tube
David Starkey there
A tremendous history teacher
Sit and listen there
History is our teacher
See what we have done
Often we repeat it
Deadly bomb and gun
Atrocities scream out at us
What are we going to do?
Tempted to retaliate
That is nothing new
Stand your ground and block him
Bring him to see sense
Seek negotiation
That is true defence
