Mind your head when going in the door
Latticed windows ivy edged – the floor
All paved sturdy tread to take
Girl behind the bar thirst to slake
Comfy seats shiny table tops
Polished wood beer mats for our slops
English ales pour a goodly draught
Settle down enjoy what sun is left
Gathered in we’ve left the world behind
Or brought it in to sort as cruel or kind
And lips at lapping ale goes down a treat
While you and I old pals sit back and greet
Whatever ills this world may throw our way
Nothing beats a pint at end of day
And in the public house our holy grail
Get it down thee lad sup up thy ale
