They fought a battle hereabouts
Eight hundred years ago
Bannockburn they call it
Robert the Bruce and Co
That battle isn’t over yet
The Sassenach and Scot
We are the noisy neighbours
And battles aren’t forgot
Border raiders reavers
Always stay alert
Us and them always the same
I hurt you – you hurt
Border stations Europe
Russia and Ukraine
Nato is encroaching
Russia is the same
Border stations Ireland
Long drawn out affair
Republican and Unionist
Don’t you don’t you dare
Got to live with neighbours
Got to keep them sweet
If not life will be very hard
Ne’er the twain shall meet
The recipe for peacefulness
Demands a grace of me
Love your neighbour treat him well
Love your enemy
