All my life I’ve lived with God
Believed and talked to him
School and church and family
The confessing of our sin
Submitted to vocation talk
Persuaded from my home
Dressed in black anointed then
Holy priest of Rome
Did as I was asked to do
Parish and mission brief
Did not know the world at all
Did not know of grief
Now I know how life can fail
The upsets of the heart
The world will be our teacher
And we must play our part
The Lord he asks for followers
Not members of a crowd
What do you want he asks of me
Answer him out loud
Faith it is a doing deed
Not some quiet notion
Pray today and walk his way
Live the true devotion
