Authorities in the Temple
Who do you think you are!
Who gave you permission?
To act just like some star
We are the authority
We give out the Law
Who are you to come in here?
Giving it jaw jaw!
I’ll ask you a question
The Baptist – right or wrong?
The people they believed in him
But you wouldn’t go along
No comment was their brave reply
That’s over now and done
It’s you that’s causing trouble
It’s you we after son
Rules and regulations
Don’t tell the story whole
It’s genuineness of character
Integrity of soul
We know when folk are genuine
We reckon to know a fraud
And the words of Jesus – gospel
We know when we’ve met the Lord
