An artic blast and storm
Brings down power lines
Leaving folk to face the winter cold
No lighting no electric
No heat to warm the house
Living in one room
And feeling old
We need the warmth of sunshine
Warm clothes in winter days
And power for central heating
In our homes
No turf fires now to warm us
Or coal or logs of wood
When power lines are down
Electric is no good
The will to live
Needs loving
Power from the heart
The love our parents gave us
Right from the very start
And in our turn the loving
We pass on to our own
And to the world around us
It will die if we disown
