Right Conditions

I lived for six years in Death Valley
Not California
Senior seminary
Cut off from life around
A wilderness
A living death
It killed the soul in me

Ken Robinson
He spoke about Death Valley
How it’s not dead but dormant
So he said
When rain or snow melt
Visits that dead corner
A carpet of flowers
In springtime shows its head

A child needs right conditions
If to flourish
Each one is different
We cannot regiment
Curiosity will help a child discover
Its path of life
Its own creative bent

Give right conditions now
To one another
Space and time
Affection of the heart
Stimulate and challenge
Always keep in touch
Let us be human
Time to learn the art
