Emmaus Road
Road of broken dreams
Road of nightmares
Crucifixion screams
Our own hope had been…
What will we do now?
Go our separate ways
Nothing’s what it seems
Was it not ordained?
The path of suffering
Isn’t this the common tale?
From life’s entering
All is pain and grief and woe
Not much we can sing
Do your best but still you know
Death crowns everything
Until the stranger on the road
Turned this tale around
The battle of good and evil
Is fought on every ground
And life shall be the victor
Listen to that sound
The Lord who died is risen
In our sorrow joy is found
