How the mighty have fallen
We love to see the fall
Like the limbs of Oxymandias
Who once had stood so tall
Broken and buried in desert sand
The mighty king of kings
And Shelley wrote the poem
To tell the way of things
Mighty Reds met mighty Reds
At Anfield yesterday
Giant versus giant
Looking there to slay
One drew blood and quickly moved
To lay the other low
The other wilted then collapsed
You wouldn’t want to know
We must be careful not to gloat
When tasting victory
Beware the victor’s justice
Beware such revelry
And beware the power of giants
Who think they rule the world
Remember Oxymandias
In desert sands absurd
