Kings of Orient

Bright light cities and television

Dominate our eyes

Cosy in our homesteads

We hardly see the skies

But wise men from the ancient East

Following a star

Came to seek a new-born child

Came from lands afar

So many things we do not know

And many things we do

Everest and Antarctica

And journeys to the moon

The origins of the universe

What happens when we die

All of these are mysteries

Hidden from the eye

But the heart has ways of knowing

Of finding what’s within

The joy of love and kindness

The cruelty of sin

The virtues of our nature

Reveal our origin

The hand of God is everywhere

And today in Bethlehem
