The Lord himself
We call the prince of peace
He himself lived in the Roman Peace
A peace enforced by soldiers
A peace on people pressed
A quiet life in Nazareth no less
But a quiet life of wood and nails
Came one day to their end
He set out on the preaching game
To teach and to befriend
And quickly he found enemies
Gifted to disturb
Disturb the peace of privilege
Such a thing unheard
It ended badly
As we know
It ended on a cross
The wood and nails he’d left behind
Returned to seal his loss
But overcoming death itself
The final evil downed
He gives his spirit to the world
Prince of peace he’s crowned
