I’ve been to Rome for Christmas mass
And listened to the Pope
And then I went to Sligo
To Collooney
And heard a lovely sermon
There tonight
About a girl of five years old
And a present for her dad
Which when opened was found empty
Not a thing
It’s not empty said the girl not at all
Last night I blew it full of kisses
And wrapped it tight
It’s full of kisses daddy
All for you
The daddy kept the box
All his life
To remind him of the love he found that night
When days are dark and sombre
And the cold wind at our door
He takes out that box
And gets a kiss
From that darling girl astor
