The whole thing is a nonsense
The royal family
Obsession with these people
To the point of cruelty
To have your life so scrutinised
As a public domain
Idolised and vilified
A senseless hurtful game
A head of state can do the job
And represent us all
Like they do in Ireland
Seems to go quite well
And you can have a private life
Far from the madding crowd
And live a normal nine to five
For crying out loud
The tabloid press are criminal
They live to bring you down
Intrusive is the game they play
They are the game in town
Photographs and gossip
Keeps us entertained
Build them up and knock them down
Then we start again
