Pray Every Day

Luke 18:1-8

The call to pray

The ringing of a bell

Sunday morning service

Mortal sin to quell

Jesus on a hillside

Example to us all

Forget where you come from

Pride before a fall

Internal conversation

This our conscious day

But prayer demands another

Let him have his say

Let that silent symphony

Play upon your ear

And warm your heart to kindliness

Consideration’s peer

Make your heart a guest room

Welcome others in

Allow the Lord to live there

Be your kith and kin

Prayer will banish loneliness

Keep despair at bay

Help you live in peacefulness

Walk with you this day
