Creeslough

Tears of love are shed

I am sorry for your loss we say

More than that we cannot say

For words don’t cover it

Only silent grief and pain

And cups of tea

And cry again

And live through days of numbing grief

To fall asleep a dark relief

Then to wake and find the same

She’s gone she’s gone

And I remain

And somewhere then and down the line

We stare at ocean’s salty brine

Salty as the tears that fell

When first they told me of this hell

This tragic wipe out of a life

Ten lives are lost and others fell

And one day we will lift our eyes

And see the sun through cloudy skies

And know they live though they have died

With Christ who once was crucified
