My grandson started school today
A milestone on the road
He will learn so many things I know
So many skills upload
And more than that he’ll make new friends
And see what others do
And learn to play his part in life
And how not to jump the queue
A farmer and the labourers
A story Jesus told
Paints us a vivid picture
Of life’s unequal loads
Some folk get the early start
Some folk they come late
Some folk get security
Others have to wait
But it doesn’t matter in the end
The Lord treats all the same
He treats us all with justice
And mercy is in the game
Do not complain at others’ luck
Or seek to better them
Be grateful for the life you have
And share your joy with them
