Sentence

Justice must be done

That is clear

Making right what was wrong

And do so without fear

And yet there should be mercy

In answer to a plea

To temper the law’s gravitas

To say you can be free

Out of sight is out of mind

And that indeed is prison

We forget the folk we lock away

To think of them no reason

We emphasise their punishment

Call it doing time

And rehabilitation

Is thought itself a crime

Ghislaine awaits her sentence

I expect it will be long

And then they will appeal

Let mercy too belong

And give the hope of freedom

And journey to that day

Justice must have a heart

A healing part to play
