West by South West

Somerset Devon and Cornwall

Places I’ve never been

Something tells me they are beautiful

Pictures that I have seen

Far away from London

Away down south and west

Quiet places holiday haunts

A place to build a nest

England’s elongated leg

Land’s End at the foot

Little harbours here and there

Cliffs the sea abut

Misty moorland ponies

Cornish fisher folk

Lonely tin mines

Paths to walk

Strange Atlantic talk

No dark satanic mills down there

No dirty factories

No smoke or grime of industry

Just farms and fields and sea

I am sure they have their issues

As all of us must know

But it seems like heaven on earth to me

Why didn’t I ever go!
