Horror after the event
The nation claps applause
And government begins inquiry
Into what and why and cause
A child neglected left unloved
Unfed and all alone
What can we do what can we do
This horror to atone
In story form the Lord describes
A sheep lost on a hill
And how the shepherd leaves the flock
And searches long until
He finds that lost and lonely one
And lifts it on his head
I’ve found the sheep that we had lost
Nothing lost to dread
So we must put our money
Where our mouth is for a change
Supporting social service
For young and old and strange
I am my brother’s keeper
Society a flock
If one is lost then we are lost
Christ Jesus is the rock
