Words can save us
When we use them well
They can speak our truth
The truth to you I’ll tell
In quiet homes
And on the public street
Words used well
Can help us when we meet
The word of God
It feeds us every day
Guard your house
Do not go astray
Do the work
That is assigned to you
Morning till night
Live the whole day through
A man of his word – or woman
That’s the test
How we know the worst
And see the best
Do not despise the word
It says it all
Creates the beauty
Causes us to fall
Jesus gave himself
To say the word
Realised their power
How they serve
While others twisted words
To cut him down
He is the living word
This word I own
