Tidy Town

September season

Children back at school

A shift of gear

Days are getting cool

Got new glasses

To Oxfam paperbacks

Packed old clothes for charity

Share with those who lack

A permit for my garden waste

Arrived today by post

The council will uplift for me

A tidy town our boast

I do not see an underclass

Drugs or domestic woe

But items on the telly

Remind me it is so

What I can do to help this world

Is very clear to me

Keep myself smart in mental health

Be the best that I can be

For others will encounter you

Your presence brings a grace

A calm and tranquil evidence

Of goodness in this place
