The cruelties of history
Lie before us
The evil that men do
We see it clear
In the pages of yesterday
Is written
The Stalin and the Hitler
Beria
Monsters of an age
No longer with us
Buried with the cruelty they craved
Yet warnings to the present
Look around you
There are victims still
Of people so depraved
The protest that I make
Cannot be parted
From the daily life I’m living
Here and now
The goodness that I seek
For life around me
Begins with me
Blessed are the meek
