Impressive witness for the faith
Saw the Lord transfigured on the height
Saw his healing power
Saw the storm at sea
Saw him face the force of Roman might
Saw him die
And saw him when he rose
Saw his power at work
To set him free
Imprisoned chained and guarded
An angel in the night
Freed him from what the Jews had hoped to see
Yet
None of this the issue
The test of faith you see
A simpler sounder thing
We all must know
The quality of the man
The man from Galilee
This the test
This alone will show
So
Our lives today
Are lived in witness
To one who came and showed us how to be
Jesus is the witness
Human and divine
Follow him live in him
And see
