Two grandsons in my life
Lucas and Noah
Names so strange to me
At their first sight
Now they are five and three
Almost four
And joy to me they are
A heart’s delight
Lucas means the bringer of the light
Like early morning brightness
Welcome sight
And Noah means repose
Welcome rest
When day is done
And you have done your best
When life is done
And we are prayed to God
And mourners gather
Around the upturned sod
The prayers we say
Are prayers for light and rest
The blessings I received
In this my nest
