She should not have gone to gaol
In my opinion
She was not a criminal
Just a young lass in drink
Behind the wheel
Hits a schoolboy
Hit and run
Run away to hide
In shame and fear
At what she’d done
She wanted to make payment to her victim
And to do community service
For the wrong
That service could have saved her
Made her think
Let her meet unfortunates and help them
But no
Off to gaol with you
16 months
She could not do it
Could not there survive
And killed herself
She was 21

+ Very often it is the State that is guilty of ‘hit and run’, by sending people to prison and forgetting about them. Suicides in prison here in Scotland is at a high.
