The old garden shed is rotting now
Weather has withered it
Rain gets in the ceiling
Maybe birds were pecking it
I’ll save the golf clubs
Bring them in
Store them in the house
Lawn mower too I’ll rescue
I can still push that about
I never was a gardener
Margaret had that skill
I just played about with words
My life has had its fill
But words so badly wasted
Are brilliant when used well
We tell people we love them
They have a magic spell
Say but the word the centurion said
That and it will be done
And you can do the same yourself
And change this world from glum
The purpose of your life to be
To make all others well
Words that spell encouragement
Witness to that spell
