No joy on the horizon
Hasn’t been for a while
Brexit Covid Johnson
Truss now tops the pile
England’s football fading
Food banks child abuse
Old queen gone to heaven
Old king left to muse
But you can’t control the weather
We get whatever comes
My father’s generation
Got two world wars and bombs
They learned to make the best of it
‘Tomorrow is a lovely day’
‘We’ll meet again’ – you count on it
When? Some sunny day
Three things last said old Saint Paul
Three things strong and true
Faith in the goodness of this life
Hope to see you through
And in the daily struggle
Loving kindness’ power
To chase away the clouds of doom
And bring us sunshine’s hour
