Luke 9:46-50
No one wants to fail
That’s not in the plan
Whatever lies ahead
We want to say we ran
We did our level best
Wanted to achieve
Even when life goes wrong
And we are undeceived
Disciples on the road
They’ve left everything
But not that inner drive
To desire what life may bring
Where is this preacher going?
Doesn’t he know the score?
Challenging Jerusalem
That’s a bridge too far
Disciples dream of glory
Jesus is the deal
Seen first hand how genuine
How human and how real
Will greatness too rub off on them?
They’re banking that it will
But only if you serve each other
Then you’ll find your fill
