They circled him
Like planets round the sun
My grandsons round my son
Tied by invisible twine
Their lives depend on him
A thine and mine
My twine snapped
The day that I left home
Now I am alone
Fend for myself
In this mishap
Stranded on a shelf
Oh children need their parents
So they do
To care and comfort help put on a shoe
Mum and dad are world to them
In this world’s strange currents
Anchor sail and stem

+ I watched my grandsons circling round their father as we came away from visiting Maggie’s grave.
+ I went away to junior seminary aged 11 and effectively lost my family in that moment.
+ So many children in the world do not have loving parents about them.
