I have never doubted the world to come
Faith came as a child
God was close in Jesus
And in his mother mild
The story set in Bethlehem
The gospel and the cross
The glorious rising Easter day
The recovery from loss
The presence of this risen Lord
The daily call to pray
The nearness of the Lord to us
His closeness every day
It all makes perfect sense to me
The gospel teaching true
Love of God and neighbour
Great though hard to do
The paradox of suffering
The carrying of the cross
The ways of love in everything
Even when all seems lost
The pointlessness of argument
Cold comfort of the mind
The secret of the heart’s delight
The beauty in being kind
