People dismiss the heavenly
That’s beyond our ken
The human world is what we know
The how and where and when
We cannot trust what we don’t know
What we cannot see or touch
God is a word I do not know
So can’t amount to much
But Jesus is the word of God
A language I can hear
A human being just like us
A presence very near
God speaks to us in human form
Becoming one of us
A language we can listen to
A presence we can trust
But a moment of divinity
He shares with disciples three
And Peter is the witness
Of the mountain’s mystery
I am not telling lies he says
I saw it for myself
I share with you the truth of it
Faith is the great wealth
