Waiting for the bombs to stop
It disturbs our minds
We don’t want to see this cruelty
Though we know the world’s unkind
Displaced people everywhere
Children with no home
Separated parents
Hanging on a phone
Now I read statistics
Is this what’s going on!
Sixty-three thousand reports of rape
In the United Kingdom
Think of those unhappy homes
Think for we do not see
The suffering all around us
Should bring us to the knee
What can we do in the midst of this?
What contribution make?
We cannot change this heartless world
We cannot – that’s our take
Yet we should do what we can do
Pray for everyone
And be the change you want to see
Have mercy Lord Amen
