I want a sunshine holiday

Margaret said to me

I scoured the Mediterranean

To see what I could see

I settled then on Malta

Sliema suited fine

And off we went one September day

Jet 2 the airline

 

We had a day in Gozo

And the Blue Lagoon

Visited Mdina

Medieval town

Special island in the sun

Visited by Paul

He came there by shipwreck

Didn’t mind at all

 

Now the Holy Father comes

Will visit it by air

And quotes the words of scripture

About the welcome Paul found there

‘We found unusual kindness’

Recorded of their time

A welcome for a refugee

Is not yet in decline
