When I was ill
My neighbours nourished me
One with soup and dinners
Another with constancy
My spirit nearly broken
Depression on the rise
My neighbours kept a watch on me
My care to supervise
The curse of this pandemic
Brings blessing in its train
Brings out the good in people
Brings sunshine in the rain
And rainbows are a promise
Of brighter times to be
Thank God for kindly neighbours
For looking after me
Mary now expectant mum
Answers to a call
To visit cousin Elizabeth
To help and care for all
And then returns to Nazareth
To wait her own great day
To give the world her only son
The child our hope and stay
