My Nan stretched out her arms
To receive her shroud
The dress that she would wear
About to die
She knew where she was going
Knew that it was time
Be dressed for action
The Lord says
Nan was
And she was mine
Let your lamps be lit
The Lord reminds us
Be ready now each day
To play the game
The drama of this world
Demands your presence
You are on the stage
Nothing can be the same
Do not retire from life
Until the game’s up
Play the part assigned to you
And live
Our sufferings bring wisdom
Help others learn that too
Stretch out your arms
There’s more for you to do
