Under A Gentle Gaze

She looks at me

Head tilted to one side

I take her photo

Somewhere Tentsmuir side

I hold the camera

But she is clocking me

That tilted head

O how she could see!

Was the beginning

Of our long romance

We lost souls who met

So much by chance

A phone call and a meeting

A walk beside the sea

A synod meeting surely

Complete serenity

It’s good to live our lives

Beneath a gentle gaze

To know that someone loves us

And our foibles do not faze

The eyes of God are on us now

From him we cannot hide

But do not worry all is well

His head’s tilted to one side
