I’m not a great one for navel gazing
Said George Walker Bush
I’m an action man
The words he chose to say
Action sounds so sensible
So ‘let’s get up and go’
The other seems so woebegone
And weak
But navel gazing is a put you down
For the hard work of thought
It minimises mental work
As pointless wasting time
It makes one less receptive
To the wealth that silence brings
And makes us think restraint
Is nothing less than crime
He ‘surfed the feelings of the crowd’
All that hurt and pain
And boasted to the skies above
America will come again
Now Biden’s put a stop to it
A wiser man in charge
Far better ‘navel gazing’
Than an action man at large
