I sat inside this house and felt
‘I’m home’
After travelling so long
So many years
I was visiting
Margaret and Michael
They at work at school
I at kitchen table
Home is here
I left my home
When only 11 years old
And never felt at home
From that day on
Years in monastery buildings
Bed and board and brew
But never had the feeling
It’s my own
A wanderer I was
For forty years
Until that day
I came and settled here
It felt so right I knew it
Knew it in my bones
Just had to tell my mind
Get it in gear
Never had a doubt
Or a misgiving
Always knew I’ve landed right enough
Home is where the heart is
And my heart knew all along
Maggie and Michael
Where I do belong
