Be good and love one another
It’s pretty simple really
It is our truest nature
But a lesson bought so dearly
Other things come between us
Ambition and possessions
Power and pride and pleasure
Fill life’s daily sessions
But somewhere deep inside us
We know the simple truth
Kindness is the measure
In age as well as youth
Sadness is a message
Discover what it says
And give your days to God
In all their myriad ways
