I’m glad she lost
It doesn’t do
To be winning all the time
It is a game after all
And losing is not a crime
Media spotlight
Blinding light
All the world obsessed
Places pressure on a girl
Just trying to play her best
Makes me think of Elvis
Quiet southern boy
Exploded on the music scene
It gave him simple joy
But crazy world reaction
Caused his life to spin
Never settled down again
Treated as god – a sin
Following Bolton’s
Good for the soul
Don’t get peas above sticks
Keeps you humble
Down to earth
Remembering Freddie Hill’s tricks
So play the game
You play today
Win or lose or draw
And don’t forget to laugh and smile
A game is for one and all
