Jesus is the key
To this world’s mystery
I saw it as a child
I knew it true
The crib at Christmas
Babe in straw
The bread communion
Sacramental awe
The tabernacle presence
Lamp alight
The Stations of the Cross
Around the walls
Holy water incense
Choir stalls
The mystery of suffering
Faced and not forgotten
Death embraced
And all our human falls
I want to live forever
‘Course I do
I want heaven’s promise
At the end
But that’s not my reason
For believing
It’s the man himself
This Jesus this godsend
Test him for yourself
And see he’s true
In every word and deed
He’s through and through
His parables and stories
His road to heavenly glory
His dying day
His rising
It’s for you
