The moment of joy
Moment of sadness too
When holidays over
We were leaving you
That spot on the road
Where first we saw
The house in the glen
And then no more
All that driving
All that journey through
Wind and weather
Darkness day anew
Hours twenty-four
Before we came
To that spot
That bore that holy name
The lake before us
Cloontakilla side
The road now undulating
Tarmac dried
Rising to the place
Where O’Boyle took off in style
The road turns right
A sight we see with pride
This is home place
Here our cousins wait
Here the river flows
Sometimes in spate
Here is boxty
Here a turf fire burns
All now seen
From where the Big Turn
Turns
