Unused to Italian ways I said
Three things I’ll never do
Kiss men on either cheek
Walk arm in arm with men
Or eat spaghetti vongole
Okay?
Oh dear I did all three!
A trip down south
At Terracina
Young men came to greet me
Kissing me on both cheeks
So glad to see me there
Next day in Amalfi
Pasquale walks with me
Arm in arm across
Amalfi Square
Oh Brian I have prepared for you
A supper so divine
Spaghetti alle vongole and some wine
My student friend Antonio
Reminded me of this
In a letter that he wrote just late
Time to own up to this story
Time to write it down
